Im a traditional artist turned digital - but still struggling a lot with the whole digital workflow π
Always liked art (drawing) as a child but the furthest I ever went with my art were those '101 aniamls to draw!' or something a long those lines. Only after yr 7 did I rlly want to learn how to get better.
I watched a whole lotta vids and copied a whole lotta pins (pintrest) of anatomy breakdowns. Im
pretty good at that part now and ig have an alr concept of values and shading - but I am HORRENDOUS
at colours.
Everything also gets amplified on digital bcs dude idk how ur meant to shade digitally like??? You
use a smudge brush or smth like I got no clue. I watched peoples speed paints and it blends so
smoothly?? Am I doing something wrong?
I rlly like bold shading or the use of hard lines so my shading is usually simplified shapes of different colours - so I dont NEED to figure out how all that blending magic works, but would be rlly good to know. It does takes ages to get it right tho and it feels so ineficient and slow compared to ppl like same does art who makes a whole art work in 2 hrs??
What drives you? Whos inspires you??... idrk? :/
Sam does art was the first art ytber I watched, I REALLY like JJK's art and BOTW/TOTK's style - bold
colours and hard edges. I've watch other people for tutorials but ive never been like 'I want to do
what they're doin'. Theres one fella who does does colour gradients and freaky creature things (in
the nicest way) on insta - but thats like the only person I regularly see.
My collection of art (Mainly finished ones) will be here - which rlly aint a whole lot. Organised it in years cause I thought it'd be cool to see the progress like that.
HOPE YOU LIKE THE ART!!
I use a: One by Wacom - Medium
I use:
Krita
- a free open source drawing software.
I have watched various short guides, but I believe the best for KRITA - NOT DRAWING!!, is this
3 hr guide WITH timestamps in the description. Its more
like a compilation of smaller guides so you don't need to was the whole thing.
There is also a really handy
Krita community which is where I get ALL my
brushes from
I really dont think I have that many brushes, I use about 6 consistently but I have about 20 brushes
in my favourites tag.
They are:
Gege brush in comment
,
Electronic flat marker
,
Cana biselda
,
Square brush I made (learn how to!)
,
Line mangatest
,
Elipse
They are all LOOK pretty similar but I swear they feel different π
First drawing in 2 yrs or so without a direct reference and I think you can rlly see the dif lamo
I think I honestly cooked with the shading. Once again I still have no idea how to render and it STINKS. I can get to this level then I can't go further ):
YES I KNOW ITS NOT ZELDA. I absolutely love Link Between worlds so I drew big man Groose from the hit game Ocarina of Time.
For those who aren't in the know, this is Link from Ocarina of time a.k.a like the best game ever. I am a DIV 1 LoZ glazer, both for art and music.
They looked pretty coolio so I drew them
The images just get zoomed in on the centre so I really don't know what to do otherwise :/
Took me I think 3-4hrs according to the document time. Idk how its measured though - I know I spent more than 4 hrs on the document. Is it time spent modifying it? I guess we'll never know π±
This shelf is here to test my preview image scaling - turns out it failed (expected)
Wondered if an image was really long how it would handle the preview image which is set to cover
the container its in (fill the whole thing)
Testing preview image scaling with this shelf.
The Leash
class (a list of image properties) uses
object-fit: contain
instead of cover
for better display of images with
weird proportions
What happens when you use .cover instead of .contain like the other normal images.
The others fit to fill but because its sooo thin is zooms in A LOT
This is without Leash
class so its using the typical object-fit: cover
Spun a wheel and had 10 minutes to draw this fella
There was some heavy inparation from the wise and great man Willem Dafoe and his awe inspiring
poses
I like Toji's character I think I did him justice with this cool as pose
What I said for Toji but here
The wheel included 'Gambler Dude' which is this guy, Theres like zero photos of him on google so
I chose this one of him dancing
Nothin much to put here, just a cool guy
Thought the ref was cool and got to this point and had no idea how to render
Lowk I STILL don't - its a pain in the ass and I just tank it like in the '?? from pintrest' drawing
How does one render ):
Made a really simple beach song and this was the drawing to accompany it
I honestly really like it, im proud of it
I only used 1 brush for the whole thing!! Crazy right?!!
Someone asked me to draw this fella and I thought sure why not
Was also my first proper? digital piece that wasn't just tomfoolery
Someone requested this character from Squid Game.
Learnt that digital art is not the same as traditional π₯
Tried out cell(?) shading, SOME kinda shading idk what else it'd be called tbh
I rlly think I cooked with this one. I think the shapes are really clear or at the very least
the lighting
The hand on the phone was truly a challenge to say the least
Used goowash (gouache) for this one aswell
Theres a picture or MJ dunking or smth and just used that as the ref
Didn't know V1
had the schmooves yo
HERE COMES V1 WITH THE BALL, GABRIELS ON D.. WAIT WAIT WHATS HAPPENING THERE GOES V1 AND- OH MY GOD HE DUNKS ON ARCHANGEL GABIREL
I ate and left no crumbs?!
Used gouache and abosolutely COOKED. Had a ref of an old orange drawing
Pretty FIRE amiright?
Went throrugh a book about a famous Japanese painter (idk who) and saw a cool drawing
Used it as a ref and tried inks as well
I liked the idea behind it but you can clearly tell im not great at inks lol.
Now you might be wondering, wth are you drawing... I'd tell you but I honestly have no idea, ik
the dog at the front is snoopy :/
Also MAN I didn't cook with the shapes
I lied I do remember what I was drawing. Its a pilot snoopy and troll toy and an E.T toy sitting ontop of them
One of the first drawings I did that wasn't B&W
Also I started this portfolio Late 2025 so all these descriptions are in retrospect
Dude
I rlly like the colour pallete I had going on
Pretty FIRE amiright?
Im pretty sure its a cow skull
Used a thin coat of charcoal to make the base grey colour then added the shadows and rubbed out
for the highlights
Honestly my bad for the blurry photo it was the only one I had in my camera roll
Pintrest person no.34
Shocking right? Anyway, I cooked with the colours. Once again Im making this (folio) 2 yrs after I drew this, I dont remember anything I thought abt this
Uh I like the pants
Idk why he thinks hes a Joestar (ELITE ball knowledge required)
I think its pretty good except for the stupid chain he had that I wasn't bothered to draw
NO ONE CAN DEFELCT THE EMERALD SPLASH!! (MJ lvl ball knowledge required)
What if I told you I got this of pinterest for the 500th time
Lowk forgot I made this, I remember the image was peak tho so if I find it again I might do it digitally
Yea idrk what id put here :/
U should add him on MLBB (idk his username)
Has a daily crashout how nice <3
BRO THIS HAYABUSSA IS GOING 0-6
NEVER let me draw without a ref again holy
I put this here bcs I wanna show that I was hopeless without a ref back then. Still am (kinda) but I can wing it a whole lot better
Stop looking at this it stinks bruh go look at the cooler art
